2.9.7- Upgrade com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind to this version or later
Description
FasterXML jackson-databind 2.x before 2.9.7 might allow remote attackers to conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks by leveraging failure to block the axis2-jaxws class from polymorphic deserialization.
Affected versions
Maven
| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind | >= 2.9.0, < 2.9.7 |
2.9.7 |
| com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind | >= 2.8.0, < 2.8.11.3 |
2.8.11.3 |
| com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind | >= 2.7.0, < 2.7.9.5 |
2.7.9.5 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.

Weakness
CWE-918: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
