5.3.14- Upgrade org.springframework:spring-core to this version or later
Description
In Spring Framework versions 5.3.0 - 5.3.13, 5.2.0 - 5.2.18, and older unsupported versions, it is possible for a user to provide malicious input to cause the insertion of additional log entries. This is a follow-up to CVE-2021-22096 that protects against additional types of input and in more places of the Spring Framework codebase.
Affected versions
Maven
| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| org.springframework:spring-core | >= 5.3.0, < 5.3.14 |
5.3.14 |
| org.springframework:spring-core | >= 5.2.0, < 5.2.19 |
5.2.19 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
