- Fix
3.14.1- Upgrade aiohttp to this version or later
Description
Summary
During cleanup it is possible for a compressed request body to be decompressed into memory in one chunk.
Impact
An attacker may be able to send a compressed payload in specific situations that could be decompressed into memory, potentially leading to DoS (a zip bomb edge case).
Workaround
Disable compression if unable to upgrade.
Patch: https://github.com/aio-libs/aiohttp/commit/4f7480e474cccc6a8cc2c92ad3f17a31dedf8232
Affected versions

| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| aiohttp | < 3.14.1 |
3.14.1 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
aiohttp PyPI → 3.14.1
- pip
pip install --upgrade "aiohttp>=3.14.1"- poetry
poetry add "aiohttp>=3.14.1"- uv
uv add "aiohttp>=3.14.1"
