CWE-1393 Use of Default Password
Fix
7.0.10
Upgrade snipe/snipe-it to this version or later

Description

Snipe-IT before 7.0.10 allows remote code execution (associated with cookie serialization) when an attacker knows the APP_KEY. This is exacerbated by .env files, available from the product's repository, that have default APP_KEY values.

How to fix

Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
