Description
Summary
Browser SSRF hostname validation could be bypassed by DNS rebinding.
Affected Packages / Versions
- Package:
openclaw - Ecosystem: npm
- Affected versions:
< 2026.4.10 - Patched versions:
>= 2026.4.10
Impact
Browser navigation policy could validate a hostname/IP resolution that differed from the address Chromium ultimately used, allowing DNS rebinding style SSRF pivots.
Technical Details
The fix tightens strict browser hostname navigation so unallowlisted hostname URLs fail closed under restrictive policy.
Fix
The issue was fixed in #64367. The first stable tag containing the fix is v2026.4.10, and openclaw@2026.4.14 includes the fix.

Release Process Note
Users should upgrade to openclaw 2026.4.10 or newer. The latest npm release, 2026.4.14, already includes the fix.

How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.

Weakness
CWE-350: Reliance on Reverse DNS Resolution for a Security-Critical Action
The product performs reverse DNS resolution on an IP address to obtain the hostname and make a security decision, but it does not properly ensure that the IP address is truly associated with the hostname.
How to prevent it
- Architecture and Design: Use other means of identity verification that cannot be simply spoofed. Possibilities include a username/password or certificate.
- Implementation: Perform proper forward and reverse DNS lookups to detect DNS spoofing.
CWE-918: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.
