2.3.20- Upgrade org.apache.struts:struts2-core to this version or later
Description
ParametersInterceptor in Apache Struts before 2.3.20 does not properly restrict access to the getClass method, which allows remote attackers to "manipulate" the ClassLoader and execute arbitrary code via a crafted request. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2014-0094.
Affected versions
Maven
| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| org.apache.struts:struts2-core | < 2.3.20 |
2.3.20 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
org.apache.struts:struts2-core Maven → 2.3.20
- maven
<dependency><groupId>org.apache.struts</groupId><artifactId>struts2-core</artifactId><version>2.3.20</version></dependency>- gradle
implementation("org.apache.struts:struts2-core:2.3.20")
