Description
The (1) OS-KSADM/services and (2) tenant APIs in OpenStack Keystone Essex before 2012.1.2 and Folsom before folsom-2 do not properly validate X-Auth-Token, which allow remote attackers to read the roles for an arbitrary user or get, create, or delete arbitrary services.
Affected versions
PyPI
| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| keystone | >= 2012.1, < 2012.1.2 |
2012.1.2 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
keystone PyPI → 2012.1.2
- pip
pip install --upgrade "keystone>=2012.1.2"- poetry
poetry add "keystone>=2012.1.2"- uv
uv add "keystone>=2012.1.2"
