Description

The ParameterInterceptor component in Apache Struts before 2.3.1.1 does not prevent access to public constructors, which allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files via a crafted parameter that triggers the creation of a Java object.

How to fix

Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.

org.apache.struts.xwork:xwork-core Maven → 2.2.3.1

maven
<dependency><groupId>org.apache.struts.xwork</groupId><artifactId>xwork-core</artifactId><version>2.2.3.1</version></dependency>
gradle
implementation("org.apache.struts.xwork:xwork-core:2.2.3.1")

org.apache.struts:struts2-core Maven → 2.3.1.1

maven
<dependency><groupId>org.apache.struts</groupId><artifactId>struts2-core</artifactId><version>2.3.1.1</version></dependency>
gradle
implementation("org.apache.struts:struts2-core:2.3.1.1")
