12.0.0a0- Upgrade nova to this version or later
Description
The "create an instance" API in OpenStack Compute (Nova) Folsom, Grizzly, and Havana does not properly enforce the os-flavor-access:is_public property, which allows remote authenticated users to boot arbitrary flavors by guessing the flavor id. NOTE: this issue is due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2013-2256.
Affected versions
PyPI
| Package | Vulnerable | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| nova | < 12.0.0a0 |
12.0.0a0 |
How to fix
Move to the fixed version or later with your package manager, update the lockfile, and run your tests. If the package only arrives through another dependency, upgrade that dependency first. If none of its releases pulls a fixed version yet, force the version with your package manager's override.
nova PyPI → 12.0.0a0
- pip
pip install --upgrade "nova>=12.0.0a0"- poetry
poetry add "nova>=12.0.0a0"- uv
uv add "nova>=12.0.0a0"
