# Refund and cancellation policy

> How cancelling a MergeHarbor subscription works, when fees are refunded, and how refunds are paid back, for monthly and annual billing in US dollars or Indian rupees.

This policy explains how cancelling a MergeHarbor subscription works and when we refund fees. It applies to the self-service plans (Essentials, Team and Advanced) and to add-ons bought in the console. Enterprise agreements follow their Order Form. This policy forms part of our [Terms of service](https://mergeharbor.com/legal/terms); where the law of your country gives you more rights, those rights apply.

## 1. How you pay

- **Monthly billing** is charged per active developer for each calendar month (UTC), in arrears: the month's active developers, any extra credits, and any add-ons are charged after the month ends.
- **Annual billing** is charged for the seats you choose, upfront, for the billing year. If a month has more active developers than seats, seats are added and the prorated fee for the rest of the year is charged at once.
- **Payments** are processed by Stripe or Razorpay. Organizations whose billing country is India pay in Indian rupees through Razorpay; everyone else pays by card in US dollars. The price and currency are shown before you pay.
- **Trials** are free. Nothing is charged during a trial, and a trial ends without charge unless you choose a paid plan.

## 2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in the console under **Billing → Plan**, or by writing to [support@mergeharbor.com](mailto:support@mergeharbor.com). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (the month on monthly billing, the billing year on annual billing). Until then your plan keeps working, and you can resume it. After it ends, reviews pause and nothing more is charged. Fees already incurred, such as the last month's active developers and extra credits on monthly billing, remain payable.

## 3. Add-ons

You can remove an add-on at any time. On monthly billing it is charged for the months it was on. On annual billing, removing it credits the unused part of the billing year against your next charge. After removal, the add-on's data stays readable for 30 days.

## 4. Refunds

4.1 **Partial periods.** We do not refund fees for part of a billing period, unused seats or unused credits, except as this policy states or as the law requires.

4.2 **Annual plans.** If you cancel within 14 days of your first annual charge, we refund the unused part of the billing year on request, prorated by day. Write to [support@mergeharbor.com](mailto:support@mergeharbor.com) within those 14 days.

4.3 **Charges made in error.** If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount that does not match your usage, we refund the difference in full once we confirm it.

4.4 **Our breach.** If you end your subscription because of an uncured breach by MergeHarbor, or because the service did not perform as described and we could not fix it, we refund prepaid fees for the rest of the term, as the [Terms](https://mergeharbor.com/legal/terms) describe.

## 5. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method, in the currency you paid, usually within 5 to 10 business days of approval. When the refund reaches your account depends on your bank or card issuer. Where a tax invoice was issued, we issue a matching credit note.

## 6. Disputes and questions

If you think a charge is wrong, write to [support@mergeharbor.com](mailto:support@mergeharbor.com) with your organization's name and the invoice number before raising a dispute with your bank. We reply within two business days and aim to resolve billing questions within 10 business days.
